on the inside (original poem)

people don't look on the inside
they only see the out
i'm screaming on the inside
somebody let me out
i'm slowly breaking and trying to be strong
but, deep inside i can never go wrong

River Carson: Hi and Bye

 Hi and Bye

I don't know why
It's not a lie
give it a try
So hi and bye
in case you die.
I just have to say bye
the rest of you say hi.
Do you feel pain
or is it just a game?
If it's a game
it is really lame.
So bye until I
say hi again
my friend.

Breanne Rhodes: The Giver

In the book The Giver, the main character, Jonas, lives in a community with no pain or color. In this community, everybody is the same. They all wear the same clothes, they all ride bikes, and they all have jobs. The people of the community have never been able to feel love, starvation, pain, or many other feelings that we feel. There is, however one person in the community who can see color, feel pain and love. He is called the Giver. Jonas is called the Receiver of Memories. Jonas has to keep all of the memories of pain, joy, love, hatred, war, and many other things. Jonas has to feel pain, and go through war, and he can't do anything about it. Yet there are many other, more joyful and happy memories of love, christmas, snow, and sunlight. Then Jonas comes up with a plan to bring back color, pain, and love to the community. But I can't tell you that part, you will have to read it yourself to find out. The Giver is a very interesting book and I would recomend that you read it if you get the chance.

Pizza Anyone?

It was an after Valentine's Day after St. Patrick's Day before Spring Break and Easter celebration in Mr. Swaim's room Friday for the Middle School students.

They're Learning...Really!

The sixth grade girls decided they had to have the cardboard.

They knew it would work perfect for the props they needed, but they had to see how many could fit inside.

Of course, then they had to stop and pose for a picture!  They WERE learning... really!

800 miles - Gabby Grillone

This is a poem I wrote dedicated to my friend back in Carson who I really miss.
PS Im happier now then when I first wrote it :]

We said our last goodbyes
as tears fell from my eyes
I held you tight for one last time
and began to walk away
Staring out into the stars
I long to be in your arms
800 miles is such a long drive
I'm feeling so dead but I'm still alive
Tears dry in my face
tears dry on the page
My broken heart falls apart
the farther I am from you
Here in this brand new place
I'm dying to see your face
A fake smile on my lips
every day I pretend
for the people that I'm around
While I cry without a sound
800 miles is so far away

Dedicated to M.M.S

Hope you liked it :]

Lanessa Watt Lumpy Is My Friend

This is a favorite poem of mine.

Lumpy Is My Friend
Lumpy likes to pick his nose,
then wipe his fingers on my clothes.
it doesn't mater,i suppose,
for Lumpy is my friend.

He hides my shoes, he steals my hats,
he pulls tails of dogs and cats,
oh, Lumpy is the brat of brats,
still, Lumpy is my friend.

Lumpy thinks it's a lot of fun
to shoot me with his water gun
and trip me when i trie to run,
still, lumpy is my friend..

He stuffs my pockets full of rice
and down my back slips chunks if ice,
i know that lumpy isn't nice,
but lumpy is my friend.

Camryn Mason; The Blackest Roses of them All

To death do us apart
You will always burn in my heart
Now these memories are fading
I still remembered how you smiled
How you held me tight
Whenever we got in a fight,
It would be over in a minute
Now that these roses are clouding in my head
I can see your smile fading away
Now that the blackest roses cloud my head.

Trissy Loer: The Mischievous Cat

It all started by this big, mean brother kitty saying to his sister kitty that PG-13 movies are not scary to go to. He said watch on and he wouldn't tell Mom. But Sister Kitty said, "No.. I'm not going to. It's too scary!
The next day Sister Kitty woke up to Brother Kitty laughing at her because she wouldn't go watch the scary movie. Finally poor Sister Kitty got tired of being laughed at. She said, "Mom, I'm going to go watch "Hello Kitty" with my friend Ali.
So her mom said, "Ok, ,have fun." Sister Kitty left out the door.
Right when Sister Kitty left her brother stopped laughing and starting freaking out that his little sister was going to the brand new scary movie that have just came out. It was called  THE RETURN OF THE MONSTER CATS.
Then Mom decided  Sister Kitty didn't neet to see "Hello Kitty". She called Ali's house to tell her to come home. Ali told her Sister Kitty wasn't there.

Mom came face to face with Brother Kitty and said, "Okay.. where is your sister at?"
He told her she went to a PG-13 movie. Mom was so mad she ran all the way to the theater. She found Sister Kitty and told her she was grounded for coming to this movie.
On the way home Sister Kitty explained why she went. When they got home Sister Kitty was ungrounded and Brother Kitty was grounded. Now every night that sister falls asleep she remembered the movie and wakes up saying PG-13 Movies Are Not For Small Kittens.

Marissa McKinney: Grandpa's To The Barn

Grandpa's To the Barn

Out of the muddy parking lot
Around the broken fence
Follow the curvy road
Up the rocky hill.
Through the broken gate
Down the muddy road
Around the crooked corner.
Among the wild horses
Near the huge hay
In the old barn.

Fabian Warren original song "I'm just a girl" (inspired by nothing)

I'm just a girl
trapped in this world
no place to hide fears in my mind
when will i die,
tomorrow or tonight
I'm so scared I'll lose this fight
please don;t hurt me,
I'll promise I'll be good
I won't make you angry
I'll do the things i should
just leave me alone
I'll be fine
I just don't want to fight.

There are so many things students want to share. Some students have done drawings they want to scan and post. Others are working on more writing. It is exciting for me to see the creativity in the students I teach!
Here is James enjoying ice cream he brought for everyone one day.

Camryn Mason: Saturdays

 Saturdays

Within sun raising my eyes awake
But everything blurry with my vision
In the living room where I sit to watch TV.
Beside me a sleepy cat
In the shower that is warm
After I shampoo I use conditioner.
Before I go over to my friend's house I call
Now in front of my friend's house
But now I'm talking to them inside the house.
Back within my house
Instead of watching TV I'm sleeping in my twin bed
Since this was good Saturday, I'll do that again next Saturday!
